Autumn Cures

Autumn and winter is the time for catching a cold or even the influenza. Let’s
prepare our systems to meet with these challenges, and not getting caught!
First rule: we have to live in harmony with the changing seasons. That is, in autumn
we slow down, and prepare for the winter. We withdraw from hectic social activities,
spend relaxed hours indoors in the evening, enjoying our warm and cosy homes.
Still you have to watch out to get enough vitamin D and to stay in shape. Whenever
possible during daytime, try to get out for a walk. Walk parts of your way to work,
go out during your lunch break, and spend time in nature during your free time.
Now the immune system needs a boost: try a warm (not hot, in order to keep the
vitamins) tea with fresh lemon juice, freshly grated ginger, and honey. Healthy & yummy!
Another good thing to do is to clean our bodies from toxic substances: drink herbal
teas that clean your kidneys, liver, gallbladder, and intestines. Try to get organic
rosemary, linden flowers and fennel. Use 1 Tsp of dried herbs for 0,25l of boiling water,
let it steep for 10 minutes and drink your herbal tea in small sips. Feel the warmth
spreading in your body, and enjoy taking well care of yourself – so important during
the dark season of the year.
