Restoring Qi

On days like that, when the sky looks sad and the mountains are hiding in the clouds…
On days like that, when my head is aching and a great weariness makes my steps heavy.
On such days I sometimes get assaulted by doubts, and start questioning everything
about my life and how I live it.
It’s strange how the mood of one such heavy day can make you forget all the three
hundred and something beautiful days, and the lightness and grace of my life among
mountains, rivers, trees and animals. As if inner darkness has no memory.
Days like that come when your qi (life energy) is low, and luckily you can restore it.
These are my preferred ways:
Take a hot bath, with some olive oil and honey
Listen to your favourite calm music
Cook a warm, spicy soup with lentils, onions and garlic
Light lots of candles everywhere
Dress warmly, put soft shawls around your neck

Choose a light, captivating read from your bookshelf
Rest, rest, rest
Today is a Day Like That and will end with me curling up in my couch with a hot
garam masala tea and a psychologic detective story by Batya Gur. And by tomorrow
my qi level will be restored!

On days like that...

On days like that…
